Barry Briggs, Chief IT Architect of Microsoft, will describe key IT initiatives underway at Microsoft and how technology innovation supports existing and new business models. At Microsoft, IT is seen as a strategic partner to the business, and it uses technology innovation to support existing and new business models. Among the topics Barry will cover are Microsoft’s implementation of Master Data Management and how it has improved data quality at the company; its use of virtualization technology to consolidate servers and increase utilization; new and innovative user interfaces designed to make its employees more productive; and its significant investments in environmental sustainability. Barry will also touch upon Microsoft’s vision of software-plus-services and lessons learned about cloud computing.
