Broadening horizons: how to get the most value out of collaborative technologies
Malmaison
Manchester, UK
In the second half of 2008, Fujitsu hosted a number of Executive Breakfast Briefings on one of the next-big-things in the corporate world: collaborative business technology. For those who were unable to attend, we are pleased to announce an Executive Collaboration Discussion in central Manchester that will present the key findings in one special event.
In recent years, the disconnect between the consumer and business worlds in terms of collaboration has been significant. Tools such as blogs, wikis and mashups have developed quickly in the consumer environment but have only very recently been taken up in areas of the corporate world. Why? Because, while many organisations find great value from these tools, the biggest hurdle to their implementation continues to be understanding this value, both in terms of investment return and organisational change.
How do you demonstrate the tangible effect of something as ethereal as ‘better communication’? Is it possible to reliably measure the ROI of collaborative adoption? How can organisational attitudes and processes change to reflect new technologies and promote them for internal buy-in? What can collaborative business tools such as SharePoint actually do? And can any of these questions be answered meaningfully?
This special Executive Collaboration Discussion examines each of these questions with Fujitsu’s own experiences of collaborative implementation, including how best to make the collaboration business case, as well as an in-depth presentation of Microsoft Office SharePoint itself – one of the core collaborative business solutions.
