The Faculty of Management Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal is proud to announce that the preparations to host the 2nd Business Management Conference are underway. Business Management Challenges in the Decade Ahead will be the theme of a multi-disciplinary international conference which will be held at the University’s Graduate School of Business from 28 to 30 September 2011.
The main aim of the conference is to bring together a variety of multi-disciplinary experts to discuss business and management related problems in Africa and the world. Some of the areas which will be covered include: Accounting and its allied disciplines; Economics and Finance; Management and its allied disciplines; Information and Communication and Technology; Public Administration and Management; Leadership; Business Law and Accounting & Business Education.
A successful inaugural conference was hosted in November 2009 and keynote addresses were delivered by prominent local and international academics and business experts including UKZN Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Law and Management Studies, Professor John Mubangizi; Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Nhlanhla Nene; Chief Executive Officer of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Mr Russell Loubser and Head of the Office of the Executive President of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), Mr Graham Terry.
Over 120 academic papers were presented at the inaugural conference and covered disciplines such as accounting, economics and finance, business management, information and communication technology, public administration, leadership, business law, and other disciplines relating to business and management sciences.
