Overview:

Scrum is an agile project management framework for completing complex projects. In traditional waterfall approach, complex projects were struggling in terms of cost, quality and customer’s satisfaction. Scrum is a process framework, which is now replacing traditional approach of product development and is becoming industry’s standard in designing, developing and delivering products, as it overcomes the shortcomings of traditional waterfall process.

Scrum originally was formalized for software development projects, but works well for any complex, innovative scope of work in non-IT industry as well. The possibilities are endless and are now used in any delivery activities.

In the Scrum framework, this role is called “Scrum Master” as a constant reminder of the differences between agile and traditional project management. The Scrum Master’s role is to maximize the organization’s efforts toward its goals while removing the impediments that stand in its way.
