KES-AMSTA-2012 is an international scientific conference for research in the field of agent and multi-agent systems. The aim of the conference is to provide an internationally respected forum for scientific research in the technologies and applications of agent and multi-agent systems.

Agents and multi-agent systems are related to a modern software paradigm which has long been recognized as a promising technology for constructing autonomous, complex and intelligent systems. KES-AMSTA-2012 is organised by KES International and University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. 3rd Retail IT Summit in Croatia – An exquisite event for manufacturers and retailers

Second Day – Practical workshops

I. IPA

Practice in small groups with the hands on assistance of the experts the development of log frame matrix for a specific project. Avoid the most common mistakes made by IPA projects applicants – interactive learning through a quiz with real- life
case studies. The workshop leader will go through a real IPA accepted proposal section-by-section and assess it from an evaluator’s point of view.

II. FP7 and CIP

You will be divided in small groups where you will fill in a quiz and discuss pre-filled parts of a proposal.
The workshop leader, an evaluator will explain how the given sections can be improved.

III. Evaluation exercise

You will receive an IPA and an FP7 proposal (fully developed) and get a chance to practice the evaluation procedure.

Papers accepted by two independent reviewers will be published in the Conference Proceedings. Selected papers will also be published in a special issue of the Journal of Information and Organizational Sciences (JIOS), an international publication issued by the Faculty of the Organization and Informatics at Varazdin.

This seminar teaches the students how to confidently perform a security audit on Oracle Database. The course explains why Oracle databases are invariably insecure and examines where to look for issues, what to look for and why. The course shows how a security audit is planned, how to prepare yourself, your staff and your environment.

The course explores the fundamentals of how to review a database and why it is necessary. This will enable students to understand why something is an issue, how to verify that it is an issue and to understand the implications on their own databases and applications before using pre-built or commercial tools.

At first sight table-partitioning seems very simple, but when an actual table needs to be partitioned, a number of alternative strategies may be used, with different consequences on performance, availability, backup and restore. This seminar will discuss and show some of the more difficult aspects of partitioning – hard to locate in the manuals.

We will show you how to change existing database tables to be partitioned, how read-consistency works together with exchange-partition, various special cases from new partition possibilities in 11g, block-compression, and how Materialized views may benefit from partitioning.

The seminar will also discuss how ILM (Information Life-cycle Management) may help to implement a cost-effective archival strategy, and include some known availability issues.
