The advancement in sensing, embedded computing, and wireless communication has accelerated the progress of adopting sensor networks to form Body Area Networks (BodyNets). BodyNets integrate and deploy wireless sensors, RFID tags, and other pervasive devices within and around human bodies for constructing diverse and practical systems for physiological monitoring, human computer interaction, and provision of entertainment. This conference will explore and explain the scope and challenges of designing, building, and deploying BodyNets. In this regard, the conference aims to establish a forum to exchange ideas, discuss practices, raise awareness, and share experiences among researchers and practitioners in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, medicine, and other disciplines in both academia and industry. This conference also allows authors to present new and emerging trends to address the technical, social, system and application issues related to BodyNets.
The Seventh International Conference on Body Area Networks (BodyNets 2012) will be held in Oslo, Norway in September, 2012. The Conference continues its tradition of being the premier forum for presentation of results on cutting-edge research in BodyNets. While the mission of the conference is to share novel basic research ideas as well as experimental applications in the BodyNets area in addition to identifying new directions for future research and development the new scientific topics such as nano communication networks, bio-inspired networks, molecular networks, etc. will be considered. BodyNets 2012 will give researchers a unique opportunity to share their perspectives with others interested in the various aspects from molecular to micro level communication to novel applications from medicine to automobile industry. The conference consists of four symposia that cover a broad range of research aspects. In addition, the program will include three outstanding keynote speakers from academia and industry. A panel session on “Nano communications networks: from theory to practical applications” and an industrial track will surely provoke thoughtful discussions. There will also be two tutorials given free of charge to all BodyNets 2012 attendees. We hope that the conference proceedings will serve as a valuable reference to researchers and developers in the area.

This new seminar describes advanced techniques for managing Oracle Clusterware and its processes including configuration, diagnosibility and best practices.

The first session of the seminar describes the general function and the different layers within Oracle Clusterware like Cluster Synchronisation Services and Cluster Ready Services.
The second session will focus on the Oracle Clusterware processes, its integration with the operating system and will show which process is responsible for what. We discuss the OPROCD behavior as well as the Oracle Clusterware fencing method.
The third session investigates the difference between CSS and CRS and how they interact. Furthermore, we will address the nodeapps resources, what their functions are and how to change their default values.
The fourth session describes the best practice on Voting Disk and OCR configuration. It will discuss the use of Voting Disks in extended cluster configuration.
The fifth session investigates the network and disk timeout settings within Oracle Clusterware, their tunables and challenges. We address the network/switch redundancy topic.
The sixth session will describe all RACG executeables, the VIP and USERVIP integration as well as how this fits together with ONS and FAN.
The seventh session will focus on the vendor cluster integration with Oracle Clusterware.
In session eight we will discuss and show how simple it is to protect your own application using Oracle Clusterware. There will be a practical example shown on a real installation.
Session nine will focus on the troubleshooting, trace file location and debugging techniques for Oracle Clusterware. This two day Oracle 10g Performance Tuning seminar will teach attendees how to fully harness the powerful new performance tuning and diagnostic tools in Oracle 10g.

Topic 2: “Average Active Sessions” (AAS)
Attendees will be taught how to find the values or calculate the value of AAS in OEM 10g, AWR, ASH report, and statspack and how to use this value to analyze database performance health and isolate and identify the causes for a performance problem, including calculating the value from statspack data.

Topic 3: Active Session History (ASH)
Attendees will be taught how to analyze ASH data with OEM 10g, ASH report as well as custom SQL scripts to directly mine ASH data for custom analysis of system so that the attendees will come out of the seminar with a toolkit to analyze and harness ASH data. ASH is a dense multidimensional data source and having a tool kit to analyze this data is crucial to harnessing its power.

Topic 4: Wait Events
In this session, we will discuss in detail the causes, explanation and solutions for all the major wait events including the internal structures responsible for the wait events.

Topic 5: Modern Techniques in SQL Tuning
The past few years have seen the emergence of novel SQL tuning techniques such Oracle’s 10g’s SQL profiles and extended execution statistics, Tuning by Cardinality Feedback, and Oracle 11g’s real-time SQL monitoring and plan stability. All these methods will be discussed as well as the newest method to come on the scene, Visual SQL Tuning (VST). VST is a way to visualize SQL statements graphically in order to quickly understand the major components of a query, the flow of the query and the best execution path for a query. Queries are becoming more and more complicated, to the point of being intractable for most humans, but VST makes is much easier to tune even the most complex queries. Find out how VST works and how it can improve your SQL tuning.
