SAICSIT is the annual research conference of the South African national computing society. It provides researchers with a forum for presenting research in computer science, information systems, information technology, software engineering and computer engineering (as defined by the ACM, AIS and IEEE-CS).

The conference programme will include technical paper sessions, plenary keynote addresses, panel discussions and workshops – to cater for a broad audience of participants. The first day – Monday 1 October 2012 – is devoted to tutorials, workshops and an all-day Master’s and Doctoral Symposium. The main conference will be held from Monday 1 October to Wednesday 3 October 2012.

We hereby invite you to submit a paper, panel proposal or workshop proposal for SAICSIT 2012.

This course addresses the establishment and maintenance of the secure information environment within an organisation. The course builds on the implementation and maintenance of processes, procedures and other issues such as organisational culture. These include the identification of information security needs and the implementation of strategies to meet those needs. International standards and guidelines such as those from the OECD, ISO, ACM and IEEE are discussed.
