Course Description: Word Level 1 (Beginner)
Word processing is the use of computers to create, revise, and save documents for printing and future retrieval. This course is the first in a series of three Microsoft Office Word courses. It will provide you with the basic concepts required to produce basic business documents.

Prerequisites: This course assumes that you are familiar with using personal computers and have used a mouse and keyboard (basic typing skills are recommended). You should be comfortable in the Windows environment and be able to use Windows to manage information on your computer. Specifically, you should be able to launch and close programs; navigate to information stored on the computer; and manage files and folders.

Target student: Persons with a basic understanding of Microsoft Windows who need to learn how to use Microsoft® Word to create, edit, format, lay out, and print standard business documents complete with tables and graphics.

Course Description: Access Level 1 (Beginner)
Most organisations maintain and manage large amounts of information. One of the most efficient and powerful information management, computer based applications, is the relational database. Information can be stored, linked, and managed using a single relational database application and its associated tools. In this course, you will be introduced to the concept of the relational database and the Microsoft Office Access relational database application and its information management tools.

Prerequisites: Windows Introduction or equivalent knowledge.

Target student: This course is designed for students who wish to learn the basic operations of the Microsoft Access Database program to perform their day to day responsibilities, and to understand the advantages that using a relational database program can bring to their business processes. The Level 1 course is for the individual whose job responsibilities include working with tables to create and maintain records, locate records, and produce reports based on the information in the database. It also provides the fundamental knowledge and techniques needed to advance to more technical Access responsibilities, such as creating and maintaining new databases and using programming techniques that enhance Access applications.
