FloCon 2012 Conference
| January 9, 2012 | to | January 13, 2012 |
Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol, Austin TX, United States
FloCon brings together analysts and researchers who understand the value that flow analysis brings to network situational awareness and scalable solutions. We use FloCon to share ideas and to reach out and inform the larger security community about how flow analytics can benefit both large and small network operations. Our conference continues to grow each year–evidence that the community is listening.
FloCon 2012 will take place in Austin, Texas. Like the flow community, Austin is an eclectic town that started small–a tech-savvy, alternative music hub amidst ranches and country-western tunes–but it has made huge strides as the rest of the world caught on to its own particular style.
This year, FloCon 2012 will focus on the progression of analytics from ideas, to prototypes, to tools. Each of these phases has its own set of successes, but it also raises its own set of challenges. Which incident case studies spark the seed of a new idea? How can flow data help refine a static signature? What are the costs and benefits of implementing a technique at the large-scale network level versus the host level? How well do new flow-based analytical tools integrate into an analyst’s workflow?
