Microwave Radio for Next Generation Networks

Rewley House
Oxford, UK

This course looks at microwave radio systems and how the links should be designed, implemented and maintained, in order to meet the requirements of current and next generation networks. It covers the latest equipment advances to address the backhaul bottleneck, including synchronisation issues related to integrating packet based Ethernet technology with traditional TDM, in order to design and build networks that meet carrier grade performance. The course provides a theoretical overview of microwave transmission, together with practical real-world examples of link design, fading issues, antenna systems and frequency planning with advice based on field experience. This course would be useful for people wanting a thorough introduction to this field as well as experienced microwave design and maintenance engineers who want to get updated on the latest equipment and system design trends.
