Alan Beaulieu, President of the Institute for Trend Research, and Senior Economic Advisor Naw, he’s back in the NAW Executive Summit to offer both a macro forecast for U.S. economy and a more accurate prognosis for the different parts of the industry wholesale distribution.
As predicted in last year’s Executive Summit 2009 to date has been a very difficult year for most wholesale distributors. Alan update its forecast for 2010 and 2011. Not all markets move in sync in 2010, of course, to know what will or will not move in a positive direction will make a big difference in your business of wholesale distribution.
New for 2010: After his prognosis, Alan will interact with business executives representing three main customer segments industrial, construction, and retail. Through this discussion, you will learn at their specific segment is likely headed in 2010. This information is critical because distributors serving different customer segments are expected to recover at different rates of speed and direction over the next year. The emphasis will be on concrete actions, taking home ideas to address prevailing economic pressures next year.

During the past year, the NAW Institute for Distribution Excellence and the Texas A & M University have examined in detail the commercial and marketing activities of 16 companies in wholesale distribution of different sizes and lines of commerce industry . From this work in depth, we have put together the sales and distribution marketing Best Practices and it is time to share with industry.
During this special presentation NAW’s Executive Summit, Dr. Barry Lawrence, director of industrial distribution program and laboratory supply chain systems at Texas A & M University, will describe best practices that made the largest positive contributions to sales and marketing activities of companies studied. Emphasis will be on the practices you can begin applying in your business immediately. And, to show how these practices can be particularly useful in the starting line-up results during the current difficult economic environment.
Best Practices in Action: Following the introduction of Barry, hear directly from executives of two of wholesale distributors who participated in the study of sales and marketing.
