Event Agenda

8:15 a.m.      Registration and Breakfast
8:45 a.m.     Welcome and Introduction
Paul Ricketts, Oracle Enterprise 2.0 Business Development Manager
9:00 a.m.     Content Management in the Web 2.0 Context

An enterprise content management solution provides the information-backbone for an organisation – allowing unstructured information to be as easily managed as structured information within its relational database. In this session you will discover the ease with which information can be created, managed and published to a portal or website without the need for IT involvement.

9:30 a.m.     SOA: Agile Enterprise Integration

The biggest challenge facing 21st-century enterprise IT is leveraging existing information assets to meet strategic business goals. SOA enables the enterprise to connect its information assets – along with its partners – together in agile, rapid ways to deliver business value. SOA can unlock enterprise and legacy systems to deliver services which support modern applications, enabling the enterprise to match up its back-end information systems with the promise and agility of the Web 2.0 front end.

10:15 a.m.     Enabling and Securing Web 2.0

Reminiscent of the dot com boom and the early days of most software disciplines, the focus and development momentum for Web 2.0 technologies has been around feature/function with security, privacy and associated trust being a developer’s afterthought. As the boundaries of what partners, customers and employees can access continues to be stretched and blurred, a robust and flexible Identity and Access Management infrastructure is key to enabling the transparent, all-encompassing user experience demanded by Web 2.0 and ensuring organisations manage who has access to what, securely and efficiently.

10:45 a.m.     Oracle Portal Usability and Accessibility for Web 2.0 Applications

This session will provide an overview of Oracle’s WebCentre Suite and will discuss challenges and opportunities presented in tying together all the elements that are becoming common for the modern portal. Leveraging information provided by the content management system, integrated-data through SOA, securing the portal and enabling self-service management of accounts through IDM will also be highlighted during this session.
