With an impounding increase in network service demands due to data traffic explosion, developing a fool proof plan to adequately provision for a good customer experience can be extremely challenging.

Major upgrades to existing 3G networks are currently underway, with 3.5G technologies now widely deployed. LTE will underpin a new generation of services as part of the evolving 4G framework. Rapidly increasing demand for mobile broadband services is driving investment in new mobile infrastructure in developed and emerging economies.
The EPC sits at the heart of the LTE network and controls both service functions and packet backhaul. There are a number of approaches to EPC deployment and service providers must make important design decisions, including – how and where the logical elements are supported, positioned and connected – which will have major influences on the cost, speed and performance of their LTE evolution.
