Networks make it easy to establish ad hoc collaborating communities of people and computing devices. They configure and reconfigure themselves automatically, as nodes appear, migrate, and disappear. This makes them easier to maintain than before, when networks were tuned largely for static wired topologies. Local networks connect seamlessly with each other, with satellite and terrestrial networks, and with a large number and variety of physical devices that can be used to monitor and control the physical world. 
Despite budget cuts made across the board, many companies did not compromise on IT security. This is because much of our daily life is dependent on computers. We check our emails and log onto social networking sites several times a day. For many industries, emailing is a common mode of communication and we often take for granted the stability and security of our software. 
Over decades, significant advances have been made in a number of core problems of artificial intelligence (AI). The ATAI conference will feature a mix of theory and applications on a wide spectrum of advanced topics of AI.

Software Engineering & Applications is an approach to developing software that attempts to treat it as a formal process more like traditional engineering than the craft that many programmers believe it is. Designing software is an exercise in managing complexity. The complexity exits within the software design itself, within the software organization of the company, and within the industry as a whole. In many ways, software bears more resemblance to complex social or organic systems than to hardware. All of this makes software design a difficult and error prone process.
