SQL Server “Denali” is the next version of Microsoft’s information platform and boasts of improved Business Intelligence capabilities. This includes the new Business Intelligence Semantic Model (BISM) that unifies both the Multidimensional (OLAP) and Tabular or Relational (in-memory) models. BISM Analysis Services Tabular mode will not replace Analysis Services Multidimensional (OLAP) mode, but will be complementary technology in the future.
