In a partnership agreement with Pragmatic Works, SSWUG.ORG’s virtual class is designed to help you understand all aspects of SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS), the reporting tool of choice for SQL Server developers.
Through Report Builder 3.0, which was released with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 and supports the full capabilities of SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services, teams can explore data without having to understand the underlying structures. Giving power users the ability to create and maintain their own reports can take pressure off the development team and empower the user base.
SQL Server “Denali” is the next version of Microsoft’s information platform and boasts of improved Business Intelligence capabilities. This includes the new Business Intelligence Semantic Model (BISM) that unifies both the Multidimensional (OLAP) and Tabular or Relational (in-memory) models. BISM Analysis Services Tabular mode will not replace Analysis Services Multidimensional (OLAP) mode, but will be complementary technology in the future.
