The Future of Content Online – Micropayments, Digital Delivery and Disintermediation – seminar in London, UK

December 8, 2009

Central London, UK

This workshop will review funding models to capture new and emerging, collect and protect revenue for the content of copyright. The overall trend in online content delivery has been for free, but iTunes, Netflix and Metoboli have shown that consumers are willing to pay for the media, opening the possibility of new sources of revenue for content owners, including independent producers, newspapers and magazines. What are the business models for the future and how the talent, producers and retailers receive just compensation? And in light of the announcement on Digital Britain of a crackdown on illegal file sharing, which is the latest reflection on the challenges of implementing a tougher line on copyright infringement?

We are delighted that Steve Morrison, Chief Executive, ALL3MEDIA has agreed to deliver a keynote address at this seminar. At this early stage, Vanessa Barnett, Partner, Berwin Leighton Paisner; Peter Bazalgette, Non Executive Director, myvideorights.com; and David Cockram, Senior Consultant, Oliver and Ohlbaum; David Elms, Partner, KPMG; Jim Killock, Executive Director, Open Rights Group have also agreed to speak. Further senior speakers are being approached.
