Viet Traffic 2008, Vietnam’s Rrimer International Traffic Land Transport Conference and Exhibition was successfully launched in Hanoi, Vietnam, under the patronage of Mr. Phan Huu Thang, Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam. The three-day event held at the Melia Hanoi Hotel, 15-17 October was well received and attended by over 400 Vietnamese government officials and Land transportation professionals that includes a high-level representation from over 25 countries the world.
Viet Traffic is positioned as the international event of Vietnam’s prime minister for road and rail industries and serves a broad range of industry sectors, including: Road / rail infrastructure, bridge construction, tunneling and security traffic planning and traffic management, parking, toll and charging, intelligent traffic systems and consultancy services. Viet Traffic attracts government officials from Vietnam and overall high level of ground transportation professionals and offers a face to face business environment for networking, exchange of knowledge and market penetration in the business of infrastructure in Vietnam.
According to Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, the total stock of transport infrastructure from 2001 to 2008 has reached USD 714 million road accounting for USD 627 million. To date, there are about 80 BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) projects with total capital of USD 382 million for transportation projects. This means greater demand for infrastructure support to meet this rapid development of transport projects in Vietnam. Viet Traffic is a must attend event for all those who want a piece of cake growth in Vietnam of transport.
Vietnam Transport Conference has focused only on the road and returns the development of railway infrastructure better than ever in 2009. Traffic is renamed Viet Viet Travel 2009 to be held in conjunction with the Transport Ministers of the ASEAN meeting in the context of Vietnam Transport Week, with wider coverage and holistical transport industry in Vietnam’s land. Viet Viet incorporate Rail Road and, with greater attention and importance on the road and the rail industry.
Since the last conference, however, has been a slowdown in the global economy, but it is noteworthy that remains untarnished growth potential of Vietnam. Led by its export-oriented growth, Vietnam is expected to grow its GDP annually from 2008-2012 at 7.5%, only slightly smaller than the previous five years the annual rate of 8.0%.
Factoring in the steady economic growth, an ambitious plan for development of transport infrastructure and the dynamism of foreign trade, Viet Transport Conference 2009 is the best platform to discuss key issues concerning the mobility of the earth. This year, there will be a greater focus on sustainable road / rail solutions for a developing economy like Vietnam. Having set the stage in 2008 for specific projects discussed with key government agencies, now is the time for burning questions about specific projects in 2009. The project finance issues in the difficult economic conditions will be discussed with the aim of exploring different financing models suitable for Vietnam. Hanoi Station:
History: This railroad was built by French settlers as part of a railway network in French Indochina. On 2 October 1936, the railway from Hanoi and Saigon with a length of 1,726 km, gauge meter (1m) was officially opened by the settlers FRNCH. This railroad is now in management and ownership of the Vietnam Railways Corporation.
Improvement plan:
On 1 January 2002, Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has approved a “Master Plan for the railways of Vietnam to 2020″ to improve this key route to the capital in Japanese ODA loan. The total estimated capital investment for this mega project is expected to USA $ 32,000 Lam million.Gia train company:
Gia Lam Train Company is one of the industrial units of the Vietnam Railways Corporation.
Its main activities are:
- Improving and manufacture of rolling stock of different types
- Production of automobile parts, watches pressure control and metal samples
- Manufacture of other industrial products, such as different types of steam boilers, the steel beam structures, etc.
Gia Lam Train Company also has a number of skilled cadres and workers with the coach and big wagons manufacturing tents and equipment.
